Alaskan Trivia:
Alaska’s only poisonous berry is the baneberry. Eating as few as six berries can cause sickness in healthy adults, and as few as two berries can kill a child. Fortunately, the berry has a very bitter taste and is not very likely to be eaten anyway. Baneberry grows from Southeast Alaska through the Kenai Peninsula, on Kodiak Island, in Bristol Bay and along much of the Yukon River. The plant grows up to 3 feet tall.
