The Guest Services Representative serves as the primary point of contact for guests throughout their stay, ensuring a welcoming, seamless, and efficient experience. This role involves managing reservations, facilitating check-in and check-out processes, responding to guest inquiries, and coordinating with various departments to meet guest needs and maintain room readiness. The ideal candidate is service-oriented, detail-focused, and capable of delivering exceptional hospitality in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Greet and register guests upon arrival; accommodate special requests whenever possible
Manage reservations, including pre-registration, room blocking, and cancellation procedures
Assign guest rooms based on reservation details and availability
Utilize suggestive selling techniques to promote room upgrades and hotel services
Verify guest payment methods and follow established credit-checking protocols
Maintain accurate records of guest information and room status in the front desk system
Coordinate room status updates and guest requests with housekeeping and maintenance teams
Process guest check-outs and ensure accurate billing
Respond to guest concerns, requests, and emergencies in a courteous and professional manner
Operate front desk equipment and ensure the cleanliness and organization of the front desk area
Maintain awareness of daily hotel activities, events, and meetings
Ensure all safety and emergency procedures are understood and followed
Accurately manage cash drawer, perform bucket checks, and count tills at beginning and end of shifts
Attend departmental meetings and complete other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum 18 years of age
Valid Alaska Driver’s License required
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 30 lbs and using stairs
Professional demeanor with a commitment to guest service excellence
Familiarity with front desk systems and hotel operations preferred, but not required
Schedule & Availability
8-hour shifts
Morning, day, or evening shifts
Availability on weekends, holidays, and for on-call or rotating shifts as needed
